Visit us today and check out www.novascotia.com to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityReporting to the Director with management responsibility for Rehabilitation Services (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy) and Orthopedic Assessment Clinic. Service areas include emergency care, acute care, chronic care, clinics, outpatient, and long term care and community/home settings. Program management for pre-habilitation at sites in South Shore and Yarmouth are also within the responsibility of this position.The Manager develops, implements, coordinates and evaluates all activities and resources within this portfolio, collaborating with the interprofessional team and stakeholders to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of safe patient care which is responsive to the needs of the community. All actions and decisions demonstrate commitment to continuous quality improvement and aligns with the values of the Nova Scotia Health.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy is required
  • Current registration with the Nova Scotia College and the Canadian Professional organization of their specialty
  • Minimum 5 years recent clinical experience in a position included in this portfolio
  • Minimum 5 years recent experience in a leadership and/or management position with responsibilities related to program planning evaluation, human resource and financial management
  • Demonstrated Knowledge of the various professional scopes of practice
  • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare structures, environments and services
  • Sound knowledge of programming related to the target populations
  • Demonstrated experience in managing in a unionized environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage human resources/intellectual capital, financial resources, capital/material assets and information
  • Demonstrated experience in financial principles and applications (business planning, budget preparation, variance analysis, etc.).
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practice and organizational health
  • Travel will be required.
  • Competencies in other languages preferred; French an asset
