Auto req ID: 240299BR Job Description Packer/Packaging Machine Operator - Back Up Support (CONTRACT) The Role: PepsiCo Foods Canada has an opening in the New Minas, Nova Scotia Plant for a Packer (Contract) who can be trained to support the critical role of Packaging Machine Operator. What you’ll be working on: Perform Packer duties including: Cleaning, trimming, boxes, and basic packaging machine operations Execute the daily production schedule Maintain packaging equipment to Company standards Develop action plans to address issues Effectively use Package Certification process to ensure quality standards are met and maintained Attend all pre-shift and team meetings Operate packaging machines at targeted efficiencies Minimize quality holds Perform other packaging and PMO duties as required Qualifications/Requirements Who’s a good fit for the team: High school or GED Preferred Able to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to develop technical skills and understanding of the packaging process Ability and willingness to learn new skills and develop cross functional skills in other areas of manufacturing Ability to demonstrate commitment through reliable attendance Ability to perform frequent standing, bending, twisting, crawling, kneeling, squatting, climbing, reaching, and grasping, lifting up to 35lbs. Prior manufacturing experience an asset Shift: Ability to work weekends and shift work (8am – 4pm, 4pm – 12am, 12am – 8am)Wages: When working as a Packager - $17.80/HR + shift premiums for “off-shift” Once fully and successfully trained as a Packaging Machine Operator, and while performing the Packaging Machine Operator function, the hourly wage rate is $23.85 + shift premiums #LI-CDNFoods #GD-PFC Job Type: Full-Time
