Since those early days, Taylor MacLellan Cochrane has become one of the largest law firms in Nova Scotia outside of metropolitan Halifax serving clients throughout the Atlantic Provinces with offices in Kentville and Windsor.At this time, we are currently seeking a full-time Litigation Legal Assistant to join our Kentville Office in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia.ResponsibilitiesThe Legal Assistant will provide assistance/support to team paralegals and lawyers. Client interaction (taking cold calls, completing intake questionnaires with prospective clients, taking messages and other non-urgent client calls, scheduling meetings, copying documents, sending reminders and other correspondence, etc); Court interaction (preparing filing packages, diarizing, correspondence, etc); Administrative (running conflict checks, opening matters, saving incoming and outgoing email, digitizing all incoming correspondence, filing, requesting checks, arranging delivery incl courier and process server, booking meeting rooms, etc. Ability to complete Supreme Court and Supreme Court forms and has a basic or general understanding of the court’s procedures and customs. Drafting of originating documents, affidavits, court Orders, and Agreements.QualificationsExperience with law office procedures and paralegal diploma, PC Law, Word Perfect, Hot Docs, Microsoft Office and other software would be an asset. This position will require the ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are critical along with excellent communication skills. Experience desirable but not essential. Training will be provided for the right candidate.Quick Apply
