This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Manager, Intake & Urgent Care Services - Mental Health and Addictions, the Secretary III provides clerical support to the team. The secretarial team is responsible for ensuring that the offices are run in a smooth, efficient and professional manner and that good working relationships are fostered within their respective sites as well as with the Inpatient Units. The Secretary III meets standards of professionalism which reflect the vision, mission, goals and objectives and adheres to the policies and procedures of Mental Health and Addictions.The Secretary III ensures that the principles and practices that guide our work such as the mission, vision, values, expected behaviors, the leadership philosophy, organizational health, population health, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships and interprofessional collaboration are integrated within the services they provide and through the messages they deliverQualificationsGraduate of a recognized office administration program with medical terminology and transcription requiredMinimum of three years’ recent related experience, preferably in a medical setting requiredAbility to use Microsoft Windows and all components of Microsoft Office including Excel, Power Point, OutlookTyping skills – minimum of 45 words per minuteKnowledge of ODCCDemonstrated current knowledge of Medical TerminologyAble to transcribe dictation in a prompt and accurate mannerDemonstrated communication skills & excellent organizational skills.Demonstrated interpersonal skills including ability to work as a team member and ability to foster collaborative relationshipsDemonstrated accountability, initiative, and ability to work independentlyDemonstrated judgment and decision making skillsDemonstrated planning, organizing, prioritizing and time management skillsDemonstrated attention to detailDemonstrated conflict resolution skillsDemonstrated ability to maintain confidentialityDemonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional developmentCommitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices and organizational healthExperience in a health care or hospital setting an assetKnowledge of Meditech (CWS and Admissions) an assetCompetencies in other languages an asset, French preferredSuccessful external applicants are required to provide a Criminal Record Check to People Services before starting employment and assume any associated costs as a condition of employmentPLEASE NOTE: Applicants relying on education and experience equivalencies must clearly state such equivalencies in their cover letter, resume, or application.
