Requisition Details:Employment Status: Temporary, Full Time (18 month contract)Program Name: Human ResourcesNumber of Hours Bi-Weekly: 75Work Schedule: DaysThis is a remote position and the successful candidate can be located anywhere in Nova ScotiaAbout us:VON is a non-profit organization that provides clinical, personal, and social support to people who want to live every day to the fullest while remaining in their own homes and communities.What you #39;ll be doing:The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for ensuring the full recruitment cycle including sourcing qualified candidates, building a robust pipeline for current and future positions, and executing targeted sourcing strategies. This position is an advisor to the site-based, operational management teams in matters of workforce management, labour market and human resources trends and practices as it pertains to recruitment and retention.

  • Support the work of Organizational Development through education, reporting and ongoing collaborations with Operational and Corporate Services teams.
  • Contribute to the implementation of VON #39;s strategic plans; particularly where related to the talent acquisition
  • Participate in workforce planning meetings to anticipate hiring needs and to support staffing levels across VON and advice on the ability to meet workforce demands through increases or decreases to staffing complement
  • Create project and action plans to support site/program needs related to staffing funder requirements
  • Lead proactive multi-site talent searches (both public and blind) through the development of strategic internal and external partnerships
  • Build talent pipelines across diverse functional areas and levels utilizing creative sourcing strategies via social media. Utilizes other proven recruiting and sourcing strategies, as well as networking to fill job openings
  • Create and distribute internal and external job postings, coordinate external newspaper ads, social media and other marketing strategies and attend job fairs with, or on behalf of, site leadership
  • Schedule and participate in interviews for Hiring Managers and their candidates when necessary
  • Create position-specific and standardized interview guides/tools/resources for union and non-union positions
  • Ensure Hiring Managers #39; awareness and understanding of VON policies and procedures where related to talent acquisition, selection, internal transfers, on-boarding and off-boarding
  • Maintain a strong understanding all VON #39;s union (collective agreements) and non-union roles to ensure that recruitment processes reflects the requirements of collective agreements and internal policies and procedures.
  • Maintain an accurate database of candidate profiles, complete with notes, employee referrals, feedback and rehire eligibility
  • Develop and analyze Talent Acquisition (Human Resources) performance metrics and reports to support action plans and processes
  • Conduct, track, analyze and report on exit interview data in order to provide retention, engagement and organizational recommendations to Operational and Corporate Services teams
What we need from you:
  • A Bachelor #39;s Degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience with the full life-cycle recruiting and/or strategic sourcing of active and passive candidates including demonstrated experience in advising managers on HR practices, creating staffing plan and working closely with leadership in different level of the organization
  • Proven experience in sourcing skills to develop a broad, diverse pool of qualified candidates for a variety of positions
  • Advanced knowledge of HRIS and applicant tracking systems required
  • Experience in health care industry is preferred
  • Proficiency in Jobvite (or similar ATS)
  • A current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required upon the start of your employment
  • Ability to speak French is an asset
