Your Opportunity:As a member of the multi-disciplinary team, reporting to the Program Manager, Community Addiction and Mental Health, Central Zone - East you will provide emergent intervention, screening, risk and mental health assessment, provisional diagnostic and treatment planning services to adults with acute, and chronic psychiatric disorders. Service is primarily provided to adult clinic but you may on occasion respond to clients needs of all age group with addiction and psychiatric disorders, i.e., children, adolescents, adults. This Psychologist I position is responsible for assessment/intervention, direct assistance in problem solving and short - and long-term case management, focusing on functional living skills, and community stabilization, for those with short-term and chronic mental health issues in a variety of community settings. Direct client care includes responding, screening, and prioritizing service, conducting necessary assessment and providing treatment to clients including mental status and risk assessments and therapy. Familiarity with mental health legislation is essential to provide both education; clinical care and collaborative working relationships with other health professionals. Utilizing a variety of treatment modalities you will provide consultation to community agencies, physicians, and other key stakeholders in the care continuum of addiction and mental health.Description:As a Psychologist I, you will work with or within teams to provide a range of standard level psychology services to patients and their families within the established standards, directives, and policies for the work environment. Your services may include: psychological screening and/or assessment, diagnosis, interventions, rehabilitation, prevention and promotion, as well as education activities. You will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals in planning and implementing services that align with best practice and ethical and professional standards. You will provide input to the interprofessional team related to psychological factors, barriers and dynamics that influence client treatment planning, participation, outcomes and team functioning, and consults/collaborates with teams and community services. Your duties may also include providing supervision to psychometrists, provisional psychologists and/or masters level psychology students, and providing input into program, policy and/or procedure development in addition to participating in formal research initiatives.
