Help us use our power to change the world.BE THE GENERATION to help build a brighter tomorrow.JOB OVERVIEWOntario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Communications Officer located in Kincardine, ON.This is an exciting opportunity to work in an environment where you will contribute to OPG’s public outreach, engagement and education efforts as part of the company’s commitment to growing its social license.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESAssist in the identification and implementation of corporate relations and communications strategies, processes, and programs.Help create and maintain relationships with identified internal and external stakeholders to support the achievement of business goals and strategies.Assist in creating, developing, and executing a social media program across channels including Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.Assist in providing information to and coordinating spokesperson responses to employees, community stakeholders, and media.Provide writing services for internal and external communications including site communications, municipal counsel updates, spokesperson presentations, media releases and other specialized writing projects.Assist in Indigenous Relations and other community relations programs to address issues and impacts.Coordinate and maintain the production of publications in all mediums.EDUCATIONRequires a University Degree in Communications, Political Science, History, or other relevant discipline.QUALIFICATIONSRequires minimum 4 years of experience with developing communications in a complex corporate communications environment.Requires a strong knowledge of English, both oral and written to effectively manage communications programs with all internal and external contacts.Requires skilled understanding of various social media platforms.Experience in the energy sector or a government agency considered an asset.Requires expert use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.The successful candidate will exhibit uncompromising integrity and commitment to upholding corporate values, and the OPG Code of Business Conduct.WHY OPGAs Ontario’s largest clean energy generator, OPG offers an exciting combination of challenging opportunities and career diversity in a fast-paced work environment.
