Stay to experience a progressive career path with an employer that is dedicated in providing a positive working environment, along with competitive compensation and benefits!POSITION: Temporary Part-Time Custodian (7 hours per week)Afternoon Shift (3:30 p.m. start)SALARY: $22.77/hourLOCATION: Elgin Market Public School (Kincardine)STARTING DATE: Commencing as soon as possible and ending on June 30, 2023REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Plant Operations/ School Principal/ Head Custodian/ Assistant Head CustodianNOTE: This is a unionized position, and as such the successful applicant shall abide by and be covered by the CUPE Local 1176 Collective Agreement.Upon successful completion of temporary assignment, external candidates may be added to Bluewater District School Board’s Casual Supply Custodial List (with a recommendation from Supervisor, Plant Operations).DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To abide by all Custodial related Plant practices and procedures, as well as follow all Board policies and procedures for Board Employees.
  • To complete all assigned tasks.
  • To be responsible for notifying the Head Custodian (HC) and/or Assistant Head Custodian (AHC) of repairs required to the building and equipment which are beyond your qualifications.
  • To be responsible for equipment checks, minor maintenance and repairs.
  • To be responsible for notifying the AHC, and/or HC of security breaches, mechanical or electrical failure or any other unusual circumstances.
  • To draw from stock materials needed in meeting duties.
  • To receive delivery of supplies and equipment.
  • To work closely with our community education partners to help ensure the smoothoperation of their events.
  • To perform any other custodial duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • A Secondary School diploma or equivalent.
  • In compliance with Article 12 of the current Collective Agreement.
