Job Description

ABOUT USThe Shoreline Power Group is a fully integrated Joint Venture of Aecon, United E&C and SNC-Lavalin. Shoreline Power Group will be completing the Fuel Channel and Feeder Replacement (FCFR) project. The joint venture has been awarded a contract by Bruce Power to execute the Unit 6 and Unit 3 FCFR at the Bruce Nuclear Generating Station in Kincardine, Ontario. This project is part of Bruce Power’s Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Power’s CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064, the project is the centerpiece of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program to replace the main components of the reactor. Unit 6 is the first of six reactors being replaced by Bruce Power through the MCR program. The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of calandria tubes, pressure tubes, and feeders for Unit 6 and Unit 3, as well as construction management and trade labor.PURPOSE OF THE POSITIONUnder the general direction of the Welding Manager, the Project Coordinator will work with a team of Welding Specialists and Welding Supervisors. The team will support the welding program by preparing welding documentation, training welding trades and supporting field readiness and execution.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review work instructions, inspection and test plans, technical specifications, drawings and operation and maintenance manuals to support training development per SAT standards and execution.
  • Collect and integrate OPEX and Lessons Learned from previous refurbishment campaigns.
  • Provide boots on the ground coordination, technical and administrative support for all active welding deliverables.
  • Coordinate with project staff in the implementation and maintenance of weld management software (Weld Console).
  • Develop and maintain welding performance statics and communication dashboards.
  • Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • Post-secondary education, preference for Mechanical or welding background (degree or diploma)
  • Industrial construction experience in a coordination role
  • Knowledge of construction industry best practices for Safety, Quality, Work Planning and Project Controls
  • Advanced Skills using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and VISIO
  • Experience with database management and programming an asset
  • Good communication, organization, and leadership skills
