They develop and implement business plans, manage budgets, produce financial reports, and develop/publish the museum year end report. They provide advice to the museum executive committee, represent the museum on other related committees, and liaise with authorities on museum related issues. The Museum Manager manages employees, curatorial functions, and grant requests.QUALIFICATIONS NEEDEDEducation, Certifications and Licenses College diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Museum Technology or Conservation Technology AND several years of experience in a related field Experience In use of automated collections management systems In preventative conservation techniques In historical research In financial management In budget administration In personnel administration In preparing and obtaining grants from various departments In developing and processing multimedia content, scripting and preproduction for museum-related presentations In promotion and advertising In business planning In using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, e-mail, and Internet browsing Competencies, Skills and Abilities Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
