Job Description

Full line food service company looking for a delivery driver.Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-trip and vehicle system inspections complete report
  • Ensure cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and procedures
  • Maintain truck in a clean and orderly condition
  • Deliver customer orders on various routes throughout Nova Scotia (and New Brunswick if necessary) via tractor trailer or straight truck
  • Drive safely and efficiently at all times
  • Report any accidents or incidents immediately as per Company policy
  • Fill out daily driver's log
  • Record and relay information on pick-ups and deliveries
  • Collect payment and issues receipts
  • Calculate and balance daily cash and cheque receipts.
  • Communicate with and report to internal departments as necessary, ie. Distribution Manager, Customer Service Dept., Credit Manager.
  • Refuel the truck at the end of every day
Qualifications
  • Class 1 license with air brake endorsement
  • Completion of Certified Driver's Course or equivalent experience
  • Acceptable driver's abstract
  • Proof of insurability
  • Bondable
  • Exceptional skills for interacting with customers/public
  • Good reading and writing skills
  • Ability to calculate and balance daily cash
  • Ability to work independently within the job duties
  • Ability to exercise good time management
  • Reliability and good work ethics
