Job Description

Journey Freight is a third party logistics company with a multitude of offices and agents across the globe. With over 20 years of experience, Journey Freight has expanded globally and continues to do so.Journey Freight International has an exciting opportunity available at their Montreal, QC location. The ideal candidate must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and excel at multi-tasking, organizing and problem solving.POSITION: Customs Rater - Monday-Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pmLOCATION: Kirkland,QCSTART DATE: Term commences as soon as possibleDuties and Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage truck, rail, air and ocean container releases;
  • Analyze documents to determine applicable tariff, duty and tax rates;
  • Opening or amending client transactions and validating information;
  • Collection of supplementary information or documentation when required from customers, drivers, customs, and other offices;
  • Update and maintain database (focus on item codes);
  • Other duties that may be assigned;
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Knowledge with RMD, EDI and Pars entry;
  • Ideally, 1 -2 years' experience;
  • Bilingual;
  • Ability to handle large volumes of work accurately;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Strong problem-solving ability;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
  • Effective communication skills;
  • Ability to perform daily job functions in mature and professional manner.
