Job Description

DLC Greenteam, the West Island's leader in landscape maintenance and construction, is looking to hire a full-time Horticulturist / Landscape Crew Chief to join our dynamic team. The Horticulturist / Landscape Crew Chief will be responsible for training and managing a three-member crew, accurately using time and job tracking software and completing their 5-day garden maintenance schedule over the course of the week.We offer the right candidate the potential for a fulfilling, year-round career (joining our snow removal team in winter), where you can engage with and learn from an incredible team, and earn a competitive salary for the industry.Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of gardeners and provide each member with the training required to complete and assist in daily garden maintenance tasks.
  • Using hedge trimmers, pole pruners, grass trimmers and backpack blowers to care for residential and commercial garden properties.
  • Driving the team to work sites in a company truck with an attached trailer.
  • Serving as the first point of contact between the customer and the crew.
  • Accurately tracking job times and recording your tasks via our landscaping technology platform.
  • Ensuring the use of safety gear when required, and the safe use of equipment at all times.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • 3+ years’ experience in residential and/or commercial garden maintenance.
  • A desire to progress with the company.
  • Expert use of all garden equipment and techniques (pruning, trimming, dead-heading).
  • A valid Class 5 driver's licence and ability to drive a truck with a trailer attached.
  • Good physical condition, leadership skills, punctuality, able to follow and give instruction and good listening skills, DEC/DEP in horticulture is preferred.
  • Bilingualism is an asset.
Other Information:

  • The schedule will be approximately 7:00am-5:00pm on weekdays, and occasional Saturday's when a day is interrupted with rain.
  • DLC is located in Kirkland and our teams meet here at the start and end of each shift.
