Job Description

AIR INUIT - COMPANY PROFILEAir Inuit has been providing essential scheduled, charter, cargo, and emergency air transportation services in Nunavik and beyond, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, for over 43 years. Collectively owned by the Inuit of Nunavik, through the Makivik Corporation, the airline operates a fleet of 30 aircraft and employs approximately 910 employees in one of the most challenging flight environments.Air Inuits Management and its team of dedicated employees are committed to the companys mission of providing safe, timely and courteous air service to the people living and doing business in the enchanting region of Nunavik, Northern Quebec.Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the service offered to customers in order to provide an exceptional and hassle-free experience;
  • Recruit, supervise and evaluate employees;
  • Develop a training and development plan to ensure that the knowledge of its employees is continuously updated;
  • Establish and manage work schedules;
  • Participate in the management committees of its direction;
  • Ensure that ground equipment, vehicles and buildings are maintained in good condition;
  • Develop and maintain excellent communication with customers, employees and other departments of the company;
  • Prepare and manage budgets for the station;
  • Follow up on contracts awarded to external service providers;
  • Implement procedures to improve day-to-day operations;
  • Act as a resource person for its staff;
  • Apply and enforce the policies and procedures set out in the Employee Manual;
  • Actively participate in Air Inuits integrated management system (IMS) as well as in the occupational health and safety (OHS) committees;
  • Any other duties deemed necessary to ensure the efficiency of the operation.
Requirements
  • Hold a college diploma in administration; or minimum 5 years experience in the air transport sector in a similar position
  • Human resource management skills;
  • Excellent aptitude for customer service;
  • Professional attitudes and behavior (skills for teamwork, autonomy, dynamism, interpersonal skills, honesty, versatility, sense of initiative, sense of organization, etc.);
  • Be able to communicate in at least two of the following languages: Inuktitut, French, English;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook;
  • Very good skills for written and verbal communication;
  • Leadership and decision-making ability, stress tolerance;
  • Have demonstrated in the exercise of their previous jobs high ethical standards.
