The Kativik Regional Government (KRG) is a supra-municipal organization with jurisdiction overthe Quebec territory located north of the 55th parallel. We are currently looking for a dynamicand reliable candidate to work in the capacity of:Public Safety & Fire Prevention TechnicianPermanent full-timeUnder the supervision of the Civil Security Coordinator, the Public Safety & Fire PreventionTechnician is responsible for the following duties: Develop, promote and deliver public safety and fire prevention programs to thecommunities; Educate, promote, interpret and enforce applicable fire safety codes and legislation; Verify the inspection and testing of fire protection systems in public buildings and majoroccupancies; Conduct fire investigations and prepare and maintain related reports; Elaborate, in collaboration with municipal fire brigades, intervention plans for differentbuildings as demanded by the Nunavik Fire Safety Cover plan; Participate in the development of municipal or regional emergency response plans, Provide technical support and training for municipal firefighters; Perform any other related duties as required.The selected candidate must : Possess post secondary education in Fire Prevention (AEC); Have a minimum of two years related experience; Have the ability to interpret building plans and understand construction details; Have an in depth knowledge of Building and Fire Codes and a good understanding ofrelevant computer software applications; Possess excellent communication and presentation skills and commitment to customerservice excellence; Membership in Quebec Association or Fire Prevention Technician (ATPIQ) will beconsidered an asset; Have the ability to communicate orally and in writing in at least two of the followinglanguages: Inuktitut, English and French; Be willing to travel frequently in Nunavik;Place of work: Kuujjuaq, QuébecSalary: Minimum: $49 592 annually – max.: $85 512 annually (Class 9).Benefits*: Cost of living differential: Minimum of $8 500/yearFood allowance: Minimum of $ 3 707/year3 Annual leave trips to and from point of originRRSP: 6% employer, 4% employeeGroup InsuranceVacation: 20 daysStatutory Holidays: 19 days including 10 during Christmas holidaysPlease send your résumé before 5 p.m. on December 3, 2021 to:Human Resources SectionKativik Regional GovernmentP.O.
