Job Description

Nexelis keeps growing and we are looking for a dynamic Laboratory Assistant to help support our growth and join our Technical Support department.The Laboratory Assistant plans and prepares inventory accumulation to support laboratory services, ensuring glassware and sterile products are available for daily activities within each lab, managing laboratory waste. estimating and establishing ordering schedules and lead times according to project schedules, capacity, and customer needs. Schedules work within the laboratory according to material availability and client needs.If you join our team, you will have the chance to participate in the daily life of the most successful advanced testing service provider in the immunology field. Involved in more than 15 SARS-CoV-2 vaccine developments in partnership with multinational pharmaceutical companies, innovative biotechnology companies and prestigious NGOs such as Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation or CEPI, we also proudly serve the needs of our clients in fields such as Flu (universal and seasonal), meningitis, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), chikungunya, malaria, or HPV and are growing an immune-oncology franchise.If this position is for you, please submit your CV and we will contact you soon!Your main responsibilities:

  • Assists the associate scientists in their day-to-day planning by filling -up racks, tips, labelling of tubes and ensuring devices and containers are available;
  • Determines the quantity and timing of materials, components, and supplies. Considers lead times when developing action plans.
  • Ensures availability of glassware, sterile products, pipettes. etc. for the analysts to perform their day-to-day work;
  • Removes dirty glassware from the laboratory and assist in washing and sterilizing materials and solutions;
  • Removes laboratory waste to ensure maintenance of the workplace
  • Responsible to maintain material inventory up to date;
  • Assists in the equipment maintenance and calibration as required;
  • Any other assigned duties that support the overall objective of the position.
What we are looking for:
  • High school degree with appropriate experience;
  • 1+ years of experience in the regulated industry (CRO, Biotech or Biopharma);
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) is considered an asset;
  • Good teamwork and organization skills;
  • Excellent communication skill;
  • Knowledge of the main software programs of the MS Office Suite;
  • Excellent French and English, written and spoken.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
