Job Description

LCS Head Cafeteria WorkerHead Cafeteria WorkerLawrencetown Consolidated SchoolVacant position effective immediately4 hours per dayRate of Pay: As per Collective Agreement ($16.68)Closing date for applications: September 18, 2022 (Midnight)Terms and conditions of employment, including wages, are in accordance with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Collective Agreement Local 3876.Qualifications and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of and a willingness to build healthy menus and snacks on sound nutritional principles.
  • Experience working in a school at the p to 5 level is preferable.
  • Previous experience in a school cafeteria will be an asset.
  • An educational background in the nutritional studies would be and asset
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for managing the cafeteria under the supervision of the school principal.
  • Current Food Handlers certificate.
  • Experience in the area of food preparation, presentation, and service to students and staff.
  • A willingness to consult and collaborate regarding cafeteria business plan, weekly menu and pricing.
  • Ordering food items and relevant supplies.
  • Keeping an inventory on a frequent basis, of all foods and supplies.
  • Daily deposits.
  • Cash reconciliation and sales reports.
  • Preparation and serving of food, kitchen duties as required in co-ordination with the cafeteria team (stocking, cleaning, dishes, etc.)
  • A willingness to be engaged in the school recycling program.
  • An interest in working in a school environment.
