Job Summary: The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and work closely with the Human Resources and management team across all sites. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, recruitment/employment, employment law compliance, health and safety, and workers’ compensation. Responsibilities:Provide support to Managers, Supervisors and employees on all Human Resource related topics. Responsible for full life cycle recruitment, including reviewing resumes, screening applicants, communication with candidates, leading interviews, background checks, and job offers. Coordinate and lead onboarding, orientation, and Healthamp; Safety training of new hires. Coordinate with local management team to identify staffing needs. Administer and assist in performance management program; update and maintain wage adjustments. Responsible for benefit administration for exempt and non-exempt employees. Work with managers on employee relation concerns and corrective counseling; manage and track employee corrective action. Collaborate, coach and counsel managers, supervisors, and workers on various safety issues such as compliance, hazard and risk assessments, and development of procedures and controls. Ensure up to date knowledge of Healthamp; Safety regulations, changes or requirements and provide summaries to the management for action planning. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and maintenance of key designations/certifications/licenses for Healthamp; Safety. In partnership with the JHSC, conduct accident investigations to identify the cause of accidents/incidents, determine and implement corrective actions. Coordinate and facilitate WCB/WSIB proactive/program initiatives as directed. Support Return to Work programs to ensure injured/ill employees are provided safe and productive work ultimately returning to regular duties. Manage and update all Healthamp; Safety documentation, programs, policies, and act as a liaison between external vendors. Promote HR and employee engagement programs to create an inclusive culture and conflict-free workplace. Administer and Coordinate employee onboarding, personal information and documentation in HRIS (UKG) and in physical files. Special projects and group initiatives as assigned. Other core expectations as defined by the company.Qualifications:Post-secondary education required; diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, required. Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a Human Resources environment. One to three (1-3) years’ experience in manufacturing environment an asset. Experience working in an HRIS, specifically UKG seen as an asset Joint Health and Safety Committee certificate preferred. Knowledge of and experience in labour and employment laws affecting human resources management. Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Must be able to handle sensitive issues with tact and maintain strict confidentiality of private information and have a commitment to high professional and ethical standards. Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate keen attention to detail and task-related accuracy, as well as consistent follow-through skills. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Able to work in a team environment with individuals of all leadership styles, personalities, and career levels Team player, with the confidence to take the lead and guide other departments when necessary; persuasive with details and facts; ability to motivate and empower with a forward-thinking natureWork Environment:Hours of work may vary depending on business needs; ability and willingness to travel. This job primarily operates in a clerical, office setting. Occasional work in a refrigerated warehouse or in a greenhouse where tempuratures can range. The noise level in the work environment can be loud due to packaging machinery, and forklift truck operation. Role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Specific vision capabilities required; employee is to work in front of a computer, sitting and/or standing for prolonged periods is required.
