Your Opportunity:This is an opportunity to work on Unit 5A Geriatric Assessment and Rehabilitation Unit, which is an interdisciplinary team serving the needs of patients and families who require varied services within acute care at Chinook Regional Hospital. Unit 5A#39;GARU #39; programs include ACE (Acute Care of the Elderly), BPSD (Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia) and GARU (Geriatric Assessment and Rehabilitation). We also offer Direct Community Admissions for both our GARU and BPSD program streams which provides valuable experience to professional staff working on 5A. Unit 5A #39;s Team maintains a positive supportive culture welcoming new nursing staff to the team with excitement. 5A is a secured unit, offering specialty services in meeting needs of patients within our three program streams. Our unit staffing includes Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Health Care Aides, Service Workers, Unit Clerks, Social Work, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Recreation Therapy. We also strongly collaborate as a multidisciplinary team with programs partners such as Pharmacy, Registered Dietician, Infection, Prevention and Control and Spiritual Services.
