SSRCE encourages applicants to self-identify.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Summer Day Camp Leader will lead recreation programs for participants in lower elementary grades. They are the supervisor of other camp counselors on site and are expected to be responsible for the day-today running of the camp. They will be the first point of contact for concerns and questions with the families. The camp leader will be responsible for communicating with parents/guardians prior to the that start of camp on necessary details, as well during the camp. The leader designs activities within a planned recreation curriculum, with the support of the camp counselors. Supports for persons with disabilities in programs may be required to develop a specific program plan.Other responsibilities include: daily duties such as greeting parents and participants, leading recreation activities, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of participants, organizing equipment and supplies, preparing for activities, distributing and collecting permission slips for outings, organizing outings and special events, participating in staff meetings, assisting and supporting the instructor during literacy instruction. They will also be responsible organizing the purchasing of snacks.Specific recreation training will be required prior to the start date of the camp and is mandatory.
