The Coordinator proactively seeks opportunities to match new and existing clients with mutually beneficial marketing opportunities, which may include City event sponsorship, indoor facility advertising, facility naming-rights agreements, etc. Additionally, the Coordinator supports clients by facilitating invoicing and overseeing installation of signage and advertising.Duties & Responsibilities:Sales, Sponsorship and Advertising

  • Proactively supports revenue and cost-recovery opportunities through sales, sponsorship and advertising.
  • Tracks and renews agreements.
  • Provides general client support and customer relations.
  • Builds and fosters a network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growth.
  • Maintains a high level of customer service to existing clients; manages the customer relationship from contract execution through delivery to after sales service, ensuring that their marketing needs have been met.
  • Works closely with facility managers to determine expiring sponsorships and new opportunities.
  • Fosters existing relationships while building new opportunities within the community.
  • Creates and develops a sponsorship strategy, identifies risks and profit potential, ensures smooth communication of customer needs and expectations between the business and the client.
  • Ensures liaison with internal stakeholders as appropriate, in relation to proposals, projects, financial or other related matters.
  • Develops and implements a marketing strategy in consultation with the Manager, Programs and Events.
  • Assists in the negotiation, preparation and administration of client contracts.
  • Actively seeks to develop long-term, repeat business relationships with existing and new clients, in alignment to the long-term strategy of the business.
  • Directs the development and implementation of consistent processes, standards and measurements for sponsorship programs.
  • Creates and presents high-level sponsorship presentations and packages to existing and new businesses.
  • Develops and proposes brand activation ideas to align the customer business with the sponsorship opportunities.
  • Ensures sponsorship proposals are in line with client needs over the length of the agreement.
Administration
  • Maintains and updates an inventory of City advertising and sponsorship inventory.
  • Invoices and coordinates advertising installations.
Other
  • Works closely with the Programs and Events Team to develop brand activation events, reporting tools and metrics to provide feedback to sponsors.
  • Other related duties as required.
Schedule:The position is office based, normal working hours are between 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. with the occasional requirement to work outside these standard hours.Qualifications:The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:
  • Possession of a post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, Marketing and/ or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum of five years sales experience is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in: drafting or modifying agreements and contracts. Ability to converse both verbally and in written correspondence with all levels of staff as well as external stakeholders or partners.
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work independently.
  • Ability to excel at building internal and external relationships and work as a team player.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Suite including: Office, Word and Excel.
  • Proven professionalism and excellent work ethic are required.
  • Ability to multi-task, work within tight timelines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License with an acceptable Drivers Abstract. The successful candidate will be required to operate a personal vehicle for business purposes.
