Job Description

Job SummaryWere currently looking for an experienced Facilities Field Operator to join our clients Western Canada Operations at the Sand Cavern Facility near Lloydminster, SK/AB.Reporting to the Supervisor, this position is accountable for day-to-day operations of the facility and ensures it is run in a safe, efficient manner while maintaining the necessary production requirements.This position is based out of Lloydminster, SK and the successful candidate will be required to reside in the area.Core Responsibilities

  • Operate the facility in a safe and effective manner, while working collaboratively as part of the operating team.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot all area-specific equipment to optimize performance to meet production targets as per Husky guidelines.
  • Perform condition monitoring including sampling and testing per area responsibilities. Complete area operations records. (e.g. volume balances, log sheets, work permits and required reports)
  • Support operations performed maintenance activities aligned to the site’s operating philosophy. Support on-site maintenance contractors by communicating Cenovus requirements, policies and procedures, while leading by example.
  • Provide assistance, coaching, on-the-job training and assessments to new employees as required.
  • Participate in the development and review of Safe Operating Procedures. Follow safe operating and chemical handling procedures and ensure environmental impact is minimized.
  • Participate in the site Health and Safety Program. Report all near misses and incidents. Participate in incident investigations, as required.
Experience
  • Asset:
o 1 – 5 yrs experience in operation of oil processing equipment and all associated processes and systems.o 1 – 5 yrs experience in equipment isolation in preparation for maintenance.o 1 – 5 yrs experience in safe work permitting and hazard analysis.o 1 – 2 yrs experience in control room settingo Experience in oil and gas industry, pulp and paper, or plant process experienceo Proficiency with computerized operating systems such as PLC, DCS, or SCADAo Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, SAP, Salesforce and PVR (Production volume reporting)o Basic understanding of safety and regulatory standards and proceduresEducation, Professional Designations, Certifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate
  • A valid, clean Class 5 Driver’s license is required. For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 drivers license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A Driver’s abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the Pre-employment Screening for the final candidate.
  • Asset:
o Gas Process Operations (GPO) / Production Field Operations (PFO) levels A-D / I-IVo Oil & Gas Process Operations (OGPO) levels 100-400o Petroleum Technologist diploma or technical diploma from a recognized technical collegeo Journeyman trades certificationWorking Conditions
  • There will be some physical demands (i.e. sitting, standing, lifting, climbing, bending, kneeling etc.
  • Role requires occasional use of power and pneumatic tools, shop tools and frequent use of manual tools
  • Working in various conditions/exposures such as noise, heights, confined spaces, cold/heat, uneven surfaces, days/nights, chemicals, toxic gases, rotating equipment etc.
  • Work schedule 7 and 7 – 12 hour days and nights
