Worker Type: EmployeeGroup: S&OI Deployed Downstream DepartmentJob Post End Date: 02/15/2023About this opportunity:Reporting to the Health and Safety Deployed Canadian Midstream & Downstream Senior Manager, the Health & Safety Analyst is accountable for the following:

  • analysis, trending and quality assurance of multiple Health & Safety programs
  • champion the management and sustainability of the Health and Safety programs that are aligned with Cenovuss Operational Integrity Management System (COIMS) and ensure compliance to regulatory standards and statutes for all aspects of Health and Safety.
  • partner with management to continue evolving the culture with a focus on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:
  • Analysis, trending, and quality assurance on various programs such as: incident management, DuPont STOP, leadership field walks, and assurance activities.
  • Facilitate the creation of yearly assurance plans including assurance activities carried out by the Health and Safety team.
  • Administration of various Health & Safety programs such as working alone and gas detection devices, weekly/monthly site communication, Safety Data Sheet (SDS) site binders, H&S documentation.
  • Continuous improvement - foster a learning environment and evolve management system reviews to identify potential process issues in management systems (COIMS).
  • Facilitate yearly contractor audit programs and communicate findings to site leadership.
  • Deliver training material to site personnel on H&S topics.
  • Provide field support during work execution activities.
  • H&S turnaround support during turnaround and outage activities.
  • Maintain relationships with site and central Health and Safety personnel.
  • Support/lead initiatives and H&S programs.
  • Assist with the development and monitoring of gap closing action plans.
  • Work collaboratively with site leadership and Deployed Health and Safety team to maintain safety management plans for each entity.
Qualifications:
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Minimum Grade 12 Diploma plus post secondary training in an accredited Health and Safety program (Occupational health and safety certificate/diploma would be an asset).
  • Data Analytics or Business Information training/certification would be an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the oil and gas or chemicals industry
  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements in oil and gas environment coordination, planning, and/or scheduling roles of a multi-trade work group.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required
  • This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to the relevant requirements of the Cenovus Drug and Alcohol policy which includes pre-assignment testing
  • Experience with the following would be an asset:
    • 3 years’ experience in a related Health, Safety and Environment role
    • Ability to analyze and interpret a wide range of data
    • Fundamental understand of Control of Work processes.
    • Practical understanding of the methods of hazard and task risk assessments and the hierarchy of controls.
    • Knowledge of incident management processes.
    • Experience with SAP
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to multi-task - managing multiple tasks with a number of priorities/deadlines.
