Job Description

League Projects Ltd.We are a leading oilfield construction company that provides quality Pipeline Construction, Pipeline Integrity, Facility Construction and Module Construction to western Canada’s energy sector.Position Title: Lead HandLocation: Various project location throughout AlbertaPosition Summary: A Lead Hand with League Projects Ltd. Supervisory and hands on experience working in the pipeline construction industry and is familiar with working on and around natural gas pipelines/hotlines.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist and provide direction in a variety of labour tasks such as hand digging of hotlines, removal of existing coating on pipeline, site set-up, setting-up hoarding, etc.
  • Act as a spotter for heavy equipment
  • Communicate work progress and safety performance to Foreman or Superintendent
  • Document and report any damaged and missing tools to Forman.
  • Communication with Foreman and upper project management if required
  • Assist in the movement and distribution of equipment or tools between sites
  • Participate in daily toolbox meetings
  • Complete Task Hazard Assessments (THA’s), Drivers Logs, and review Job Site Assessment
  • Supervise loading and strap down materials on trucks and trailers
  • Knowledge of pre-Planning tasks and pre-trip requirements for numerous onsite projects, hydro vac holes, preparation and set up of heat equipment and Gensets, installing snow fence, and dewatering
Skills and Required:
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, while adding to a safe and positive team environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds if required
  • Ability to operate medium sized heavy equipment is considered an asset
  • Minimum 2 - 5 years pipeline experience
Certifications and Onboarding Requirements:
  • Valid driver license
  • H2S Alive
  • Standard First Aid/AED
  • Ground Disturbance II
  • TDG
Work Conditions:
  • Must be flexible working an adjusted shift schedule if required
  • Extensive travel required to various project locations
  • Work will be outdoors in various weather conditions which can include extreme heat or cold temperatures
