Job Description

Overview:Corrpro Canada is looking for an Cathodic Protection Operations Supervisor to join our team.Corrpro Canada, a subsidiary of Aegion Corporation, is Canada’s largest corrosion engineering, cathodic protection, and corrosion monitoring business for the protection and preservation of infrastructure. Corrpro provides professional corrosion consulting and cathodic protection engineering services to major oil companies, government agencies, municipal water, sewer and gas utilities, universities, and public transportation agencies. Corrpro has complete construction installation services, including crews and equipment to install any type of cathodic protection system for any type of structure.Responsibilities:Managing and coordinating Catholic Protection projects involving staff, subcontract labour, or equipment to achieve the revenue and profit goalsSupervisory Assignments

  • Effectively supervise and mentor senior staff team (4 – 6 individuals)
  • Complete regularly scheduled employee evaluations and developmental career conversations
  • Facilitate regular team meetings
  • Provide direction and support to staff as required
  • Approve weekly Journyx (payroll) submissions for direct reports
  • Manage and approve vacation and LOA requests for direct reports
Project/Construction Assignments
  • Prepare bid proposals and submit to supervisor for review/approval
  • Acquire and assign RFQ’s and track progress
  • Build budgets/costing for projects
  • Plan and coordinate several major projects of extended duration or requiring multiple tasks.
  • Prepare required submittal documents for approval by the reviewing authority
  • Analyze month-end Job Cost Report for individual projects, confirm job budget goals are met and determine an action plan when they are not
  • Ensure that monthly invoices are accurately prepared and submitted to individual customers
  • Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely collection on invoices
  • Work within allotted time constraints to complete project deliverables
  • Meet and/or communicate with clients on a professional level to ensure positive relations and efficient execution of projects
  • Manage and assign responsibilities for Engineering Team and CP Department to obtain the most effective utilization of resources and meet our commitments to clients
  • Develop and continually improve standard operating procedures for the division
  • Participate in reviewing and approving all customer contracts, purchase orders, and work authorizations regarding the scope of work, customer expectation, and project objectives for construction projects
Data and Report Preparation
  • Reduce raw field data to tables and/or charts to facilitate interpretation
  • Using standard word processing software, create customer survey reports
  • Prepare all Quality Control Documentation
  • Prepare field sketches for submittal to drafting staff
  • Complete Daily Inspection Reports for all on-site field inspections
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintain continuous and profitable working relationships with customers
  • Provide technical assistance to contractors
  • Assist in training entry-level technical staff
  • Accurately and clearly present data in an organized and consistent manner
  • Direct the activities of field engineer/technician(s) or a construction crew
  • Use good judgment in planning and scheduling multiple project assignments
  • Use knowledge of project documentation to expedite job completion
  • Operate and maintain company vehicles and equipment safely at all times
  • Report vehicle and equipment maintenance requirements to supervisor
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of company equipment
  • Inform supervisor at every fiscal year of new capital expense requirements
  • Maintain open job files for ready access by all office staff
  • Accompany sales staff on technical sales calls to prospective clients
  • Bid selected projects and assist in estimating quantities for sales quotations
  • Monitor client receivables and assist in efforts to collect overdue accounts
Qualifications:
  • Technical Engineering Diploma, or an approved science, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • NACE CP Technician Certification preferred
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with clear drivers abstract required
  • 7 years of corrosion prevention, cathodic protection and/or pipeline experience
  • 1 year of supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong management and problem solving skills
  • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal and client services skills
