Job Description

Truck Zone is an Alberta owned and operated company with locations in Edmonton, Bonnyville, Grande Prairie, and Lloydminster. We believe and support our core values which include being a Team, having a Commitment to Excellence, being Solution Driven, and providing Adaptability.Truck Zone is looking for a new team member to join our Lloydminster location as a Parts Technician HD.The Parts Technician receives and processes orders in person or by telephone using the Truck Zone computer database and parts catalogues as necessary. He/she performs a variety of clerical duties, including providing price estimates, checking inventory for product availability, providing delivery dates to customers and verifying prices. The Parts Technician prepares and maintains the sales orders, customer lists, and purchase orders with receipts, as well as providing estimates to internal and external customers.Job Duties

  • Assist with shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales associates for processing.
  • Frequent and timely communication with Shop Manager/Foreman and Service Coordinator regarding parts pricing and availability for internal use
  • Placing customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
  • Filling requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributing items to shipping or to designated storage area.
  • Ensuring store is clean, accessible and safe for employee and customer traffic.
  • Assembling customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or relocating orders to a holding area or shipping department.
  • Recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program including updating R/O’s with parts usage.
  • Assisting in counting of physical inventory.
  • Processes a variety of reports in written and electronic form (e.g. requisitions, paperwork, reports, etc.) for the purpose of disseminating information and/or materials to appropriate parties.
  • Purchase and receive stock and non-stock items for the purpose of ensuring specifications, quantity and quality of orders are correct.
  • Prepares orders by either pulling from stock or making emergency orders
  • Periodically examines physical inventories for the purpose of verifying stock and identifying losses.
  • Expediting orders to ensure efficiencies
  • Source parts from multiple vendor to ensure best pricing
  • Maintains documents, files and records (e.g. tracking on line shipping, equipment transfer forms, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, and providing materials and reliable resource information.
  • Ensuring timely effort to process returns for unused buyout parts, defective products, dead stock, and cores
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • HD or Automotive parts knowledge a definite asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to perform repetitive heavy lifting.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of filling out waybills and bills of landing and international shipments.
  • Ability to weigh and measure items.
  • Working knowledge of safe lifting methods.
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
  • Computer literacy, including working skills of Excel and e-mail.
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work.
  • Good organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
