Worker Type: EmployeeGroup:Job Post End Date: 01/08/2024About this opportunity:Cenovus is currently recruiting for a Senior DCS Technologist to join their Electrical, Instrumentationamp; DCS team supporting the Lloydminster Upgrader, Ethanol and Asphalt Refinery facilities. This role will support plant operations and maintenance including turnaround planning and execution activities, new project start-ups, and assisting with maintaining the existing infrastructure in long term initiatives and day to day plant reliability programs.This position requires the successful candidate to live in the Lloydminster/surrounding area.Learn more about working in Lloydminster!Responsibilities:

  • Provide DCS support for the safe and reliable operation of the Lloydminster Downstream facilities.
  • Review and provide technical interpretation of construction work packages, including control loops, narratives and P amp;IDs.
  • Participate in planning major outages during turnarounds.
  • Participate in leading construction and commissioning activities for both projects and day to day operations.
  • Solve plant operational issues related to control systems working collaboratively with plant maintenance, engineering and operations.
  • Design and maintain system configuration and testing on Foxboro and Delta-V systems.
  • Participate and implement DCS upgrades and lifecycle planning.
  • Create and maintain essential technical documentation.
  • Participate in facility short and long-term reliability planning.
  • Participate in post failure analysis studies.
Qualifications:
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Red Seal Journeyman Instrumentation Certification or Instrumentation Engineering Technology diploma/degree (CET accreditation would be an asset).
  • 8+ years #39; relevant instrumentation experience combined with DCS/process control systems.
  • Industrial field experience (Oil and Gas Refining and/or Upgrading experience is preferred)
  • Valid Class 5 Driver #39;s license
  • This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to the relevant requirements of the Cenovus Drug and Alcohol policy which includes pre-assignment testing.
