Job Description

The Youthamp; Family Ministries Coordinator will organize and facilitate spiritual formation and development opportunities for youth, children, and families within Lloydminster Corps. This will include the Corps and Community and Family Services with the purpose of promoting integrated mission. The coordinator will work to provide/facilitate programming and resources for children, youth, and families.*NOTE: For some jobs, you may be required to provide validated educational documentation. Education/Certifications:

  • College Certificate or Diploma with an emphasis in Biblical Studies or Youth Ministries (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered. Accountabilities:
  • Creates and promotes all programs for children and youth within the Church.
  • Works in partnership with the Program Coordinator for Community and Family Services to create and promote Youth programs to serve CFS clients.
  • Contributes to the spiritual development of children and youth by mentoring, discipling, encouraging, and modeling appropriate Christian attitudes and behaviours.
  • Develop new ministries to encourage the spiritual development of children and youth.
  • Coordinates and maintains programs relevant to youth and children within the Corps as well as in the community at large.
  • Assists in the evaluation of youth and children program within the Corps and Community and Family Services.
  • Implements (and where necessary develops) appropriate leadership development programs for youth and youth leaders. This includes recruiting, orienting, and training volunteer leaders.
  • Plans and conducts creative worship services, outreach, discipleship programs and implements ORANGE curriculum.
  • Strategizes for youth ministries and future planning for the same.
  • Plans events to promote integrated mission, connecting Youth from community with Corps.
  • Maintains all statistics pertaining to youth programming and provides them to the administrative assistant for recording in a timely fashion.
  • Represents The Salvation Army on related community youth committees when necessary.
  • Interacts with Community Partners to determine local Youth and family resources.
  • May be required to attend and/or transport children to/from camps and outside activities as needed.
  • Follow up with children/youth who attend The Salvation Army camp programs.
  • Fundraise for youth events.
  • Attend Corps Council Meetings.
  • Attends and participates in Sunday Worship at The Salvation Army Lloydminster.
  1. Staff Management
  • Recruit volunteers for events and activity efforts, as well as all necessary support, resources, and supplies.
  • Give oversight to youth leaders/volunteers.
  • Ensure ongoing volunteer training.
  1. Financial and Administrative
  • In collaboration with the Corps Officer/Community Ministries Officer and ministry team to maintain the annual budget, ensuring diligent stewardship of resources.
  • Hold fundraisers to support Youth Ministries.
  • Maintain records and provide program evaluations and/or statistical information as required by CO/CMO/DHQ/THQ.
  • Develop and/or implements policies and procedures for Youth Ministries in collaboration with the Corps Officer/Community Ministries Officer.
  • Perform administrative tasks that support program objectives in collaboration with Administrative Assistant.
  • Attends youth networking and Community meetings as required by the Corps Officer/ Community Ministries Officer.
  • Actively participates in meetings with Corps Officer/Community Ministries Officer, inclusive of PEAC.
