Evaluate state-of-the-art cyber defence solutions, propose, and implement improvements and advancements to existing tools and techniques. Contribute to research proposals and publications. Assist building/configuring research playground as per project requirements. You will be a specialist in the design, development, integration, and deployment of cutting-edge tools, techniques, and systems to support cyber operations.Responsibilities:
  • Perform research activities ranging from literature surveys, analysis of current state-of-the-art, to develop advanced cybersecurity solutions.
  • Support various cybersecurity research topics with a focus on Defense for Operations Technology (OT) for Critical Infrastructure. Current research areas includes Security Architecture, Secure Communication, Secure Compute Platform, Security Service Enablement for OT devices/systems.
  • Research new and innovate existing approaches and tools to demonstrate and enable managed cybersecurity services.
  • Authors/contributes to research proposals and publications.
  • Collaborate with other researchers and academic or industrial research partners.
  • Understand current best practices for monitoring and attack detection services.
  • Be able to support incident response activities, investigating compromised assets in a production environment.
What will you need to succeed
  • Master #39;s degree or Phd. in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Security, Power Systems, or other relevant area required.
  • (Intermediate profile)
  • Minimum 2-7 years of hands-on experience in IT, IoT, and/or OT cybersecurity, e.g., in security monitoringamp; attack detection, incident responseamp; forensics, security architecture, protection methods, etc.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning modelling techniques is highly desirable.
  • (Senior profile)
  • Minimum 8-12 years of hands-on experience in IT, IoT, and/or OT cybersecurity, e.g., in security monitoringamp; attack detection, incident responseamp; forensics, security architecture, protection methods, etc.
  • Expertise in machine learning technologies with application to cybersecurity.
  • Experience or willingness to mentor junior researchers and co-ops.
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of MITRE ATTACK framework, and emerging topics such as cryptography and post-quantum, zero-trust, blockchain.
  • Excellent up-to-date technical and hands-on knowledge/experience in current attack methods, handling of compromised systems, detection approaches, protection concepts (defense in depth, perimeter protection, host protection).
  • Demonstrated expertise in some or all the following: object-oriented programming (e.g., Java, Python and/or C++), Linux and Windows operating systems, software testing, source code control (e.g., Git), debugging, profiling, memory optimization, high-performance data structures and algorithms, multithreaded programming and software design.
  • Experience in Critical Infrastructure and its protection, ie. energy generation and transmission, oilamp; gas, mining, or Commercial Building spaces delivering services to Critical Infrastructure, ie Control Centres, Data Centres etc are a plus.
  • Problem solver who sees a roadblock and figures out how to get around it with a strong hands-on and can-do attitude.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel up to 20% domestic / international.
Asset(s):
  • Previous OT or IT vulnerability assessment and penetration testing experience.
  • Experience setting up and configuring IT/OT devices
  • Additional languages of French/German/ Spanish verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in business transformation and program delivery is preferred
  • Certification(s): CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 or SANS cyber security
