Job Description

Position Title: Global Innovation Robotics EngineerPosition Type: Regular - Full-TimePosition Location: Florenceville-Bristol, New Brunswick, Canada ; Fredericton, New Brunswick, CanadaGrade: Grade 05Requisition ID: 24648SUMMARY:This is a highly critical role who will interface closely with Global and regional engineeringamp; supply chain organizations to design, develop and implement innovative robotic and automation technologies across the company. Additionally, this role will develop and own the global innovative robotic and automation engineering design standards. A key member of the new Robotic Centre of Excellence (COE). Opportunity to interface and influence across the company and senior stakeholders. Looking for an energetic, passionate leader who can help pave the future for McCain.ESSENTIAL DUTIESamp; RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with fellow engineers, project managers, plants, and other stakeholders to understand the requirements and scope of the robotics and automation project.
  • Draft blueprints, sketches, or other documentation demonstrating proposed ideas and prototypes, modifying based on feedback and simulation results.
  • Design and develop robotic and automation prototypes.
  • Construct, configure, test, and debug robots, robotic and automation systems.
  • Install, operate, calibrate, and maintain robots and automation systems.
  • Ensure that robotic machines and automation systems operate safely, dependably, and with precision; identifies and implements modifications.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting services for robotic and automation systems.
  • Recommend, develop, and implement enhancements and improvements to increase production volume or precision in high-throughput operations.
  • Maintain documentation of development process, modifications, maintenance requirements, and other data.
  • Assist with cost estimates and project calculations.
  • Maintain knowledge of existing and developing technology and trends in robotics and automations.
  • Assist in the implementation and operations of the McCain Automation and Robotics System (MARS)
  • Assist in the operations of the Robotics Center of Excellence (COE)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Tertiary qualification or recognized trade in field of Mechatronics Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering or Computer Science.

  • Proven capability to develop and maintain strong collaborative business relationships across global and regional functions

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with diversity and inclusion sensitivity
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively and persuasively articulate positions (electronically and verbally) to various audiences and at all levels of the business

  • Ability to work independently and within teams on both strategy and tactical projects with minimal supervision.
  • Program management skills: identification and management of stakeholders, milestone development and tracking of progress, resource management, risk mitigation, detailed action planning, basic familiarity with change management.

  • General business insight and the ability to manage complexity within the manufacturing landscape
  • Curiosity in new technologies and ability to identify ways to implement and make it alive.
  • Ability to propose, evaluate and motivate projectsamp; innovations from a technical and financial perspective
  • Ability to interact at various levels within the global and regional integrated supply chain
  • Ability to interface x-functionally with other functions (e.g., Procurement, Finance, Tech Svcs, Legal, R amp;D etc)
  • Ability to work with technology vendors and review/support contract process.
Required Lengthamp; Type of Experience:
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in Food or CPG industries
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Potato and Appetizers Engineering Technologies is a plus
  • Experience and comfortable working in a matrix organization with x-functional teams and multiple stakeholders
  • Proven track record to drive results through influencing, persuading and collaboration
  • Experience in simulation and modelling of robotic systems using industry standard software tools.
  • Experience and working knowledge of Studio 5000 or similar, C++ and/or Python and robotic teach pendants.
Travel:
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 30%
  • Flexibility to work across multiple time zones.
