Special ProjectSupernumerary until June 30, 2021NATURE OF THE WORKThe position of education consultant encompasses, in particular, research and support to staff ofeducational institutions and services in the implementation, development, and evaluation of programsof study, class management and instructional materials.SOME CHARACTERISTIC DUTIESThe education consultant for gifted students participates in the research and training on effectivepractices related to the intellectual engagement and development of gifted learners in particular, whilecomplying with the academic and administrative requirements of both the educational institutions andthe school board.He or she contributes to the implementation of program modifications and training related to giftedstudents and provides advice to the teachers and administration on research-based practices relatedto this field; he or she collaborates in developing learning situations and supports experimentation inclass.He or she supports teachers in the design, preparation or adaptation of evaluation tools.He or she may be called upon to work with a multidisciplinary team to draw up and review theindividualized education plan of a gifted learner; he or she participates in defining interventionobjectives and means.He or she analyzes and recommends the purchase of learning materials, supplementary materials,equipment, software and program packages, and provides advice on room layouts.He or she collaborates with other school resources, partner organizations and the Ministère del’Éducation et de l'Enseignement supérieur.QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREDA bachelor’s degree in an appropriate specialty, notably education.Exceptional communication skills in both English and French (written and oral).The understanding of the profile of gifted learners would be considered a strong asset.TERM OF ENGAGEMENTUntil June 30, 2021, with the possibility of renewal.SUPERVISOR: Director, Instructional Technology and Pedagogical ServicesSCHEDULE: 35 hours per week / 5 days per weekSTARTING DATE: ASAPSALARY: $25.25 - $45.22 per hourPlease send your application in writing by 2:00 p.m. on May 6, 2021 tohr@etsb.qc.caHuman Resources Department340, Saint-Jean-Bosco Magog, QC J1X 1K9FAX: (819) 868-3821Equal opportunity for allP-20-092021-04-23
