The Eastern Townships School Board is seeking candidatesfor the following positionEDUCATIONAL CONSULTANT – TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION 100%(REPLACEMENT)NATURE OF WORKThe occupation of the Educational Consultant includes, in particular, to advise senior officials in the educationalservices, teachers and other professionals in matters concerning the implementation, development andevaluation of information technology integration within the curriculum, the appropriate academic organizationand the selection and use of methods, techniques, equipment, teaching material, etc. The successful candidatewill work in close collaboration with the members of the Educational Services team. Within their mandate, thisperson will be required to guide and contribute to reflection on educational success and relevant data, incollaboration with school teams and educational services. They will analyze existing data, as well as search forthe best tools, resources and means with which to establish targets and indicators and concretely measureprogress. They will be required to address and take into account language, literacy and numeracy across thecurriculum. Specific pedagogical dossiers will be assigned, that could include pedagogical integration oftechnology (RECIT representative for ETSB), coaching and mentoring of teachers and administrators, and/oronline and distance learning.In all sectors:The Educational Consultant keeps abreast of research and new developments in the field of technology,especially with respect to curricula and educational methods, complementary activities, manuals and othereducational material and evaluation of academic performances.In conformity with the policy established by the board, he/she sees to the introduction of both experimental andother new developments; he/she provides information on new requirements brought about by change and he/sheencourages a continuous process of evaluation within the milieu. It is his/her duty to advise the board and allpersons concerned in such matters. His/her main role is that of stimulating the educational interests of the fieldof information technologies, including collaborating with teachers, administrators and professionals in relation tostimulating new and innovative evidence-based approaches in the classroom.He/she advises school staff on the means for integrating technology into teaching; he/she participates in carryingout related projects; he/she prepares and delivers training and information workshops on components of theprogram for integrating technology. He/she collaborates with school resources, partner organizations and theMinistry.He/she verifies the results obtained through the use of various methods and assesses the school clientele’sprogress primarily in relation to the methods employed. In collaboration with the ICT and Pedagogical Servicesdepartments, he/she may also advise on matters concerning the purchase of equipment and educationalmaterial and on ways of planning the use of these technologies in the classroom.In addition, this consultant will organize professional development sessions for teachers, model lessons in theclassroom, and will analyze/interpret data collected to make recommendations to the Director of PedagogicalServices. In addition, s/he may provide advice on questions concerning the professional improvement programsfor teaching staff, plan for the programs and assess the results, as well as develop evidence-based resourcesand materials to support teachers.He/she contributes to the development and application of ETSB policies and develops department objectivesbased on ETSB’s Strategic Plan, Pillars, and Partnership Agreement.The consultant will represent the school board in relevant MEQ and regional meetings and participate in schoolboard meetings such as: Pedagogical Services, Principals’ Tables (when necessary), Educational ServicesAdvisory Committee (when necessary) and inter-board committees.Any other related tasks as assigned by the consultant’s supervisor.P-21-112021-10-05REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
