The Position: The data tells a story - what we do well or could do better and you love a good story! You’re a sleuth with many tools to extract that story (excel, Power BI etc.) and use it for good. You balance these analytical skills with being good with people and enjoying a good graph. We’re open to hybrid remote work arrangements or choose to come into the office for an amazing view of the bay!What You Will Do: · Review monthly financial statements:· Job margin reviews for operations· Statement variance reports· Prepare materials and participate in review meetings with business unit managersForecasting:· Job margin review· In month cost analysis and short-term EBITDA forecasting· Revenue, backlog forecasting and analysisReporting & Monitoring:· Participate in maintaining weekly and monthly operational and financial reports· Update and improve existing reports· Participate in modernizing current reporting mechanisms to provide improved performance feedback to all aspects of the businessBudgeting Process Support:· Build out budget templates· Work with business unit managers to finalize profit & loss budgets· Support budget bridge analysis· MD & A/Governance reporting support for monthly Board packages· Support building improved reporting capabilities· Analyse services, product lines and geographies to determine typical margins· Participate in other projects, responsibilities as required- Ability to work with confidential, private informationWhat You Bring: · Applicable Post-secondary education such as degree in business, finance, sciences, etc. or relevant experience· 2-4 years of experience in business analysis· Exceptional MS Office, general technology capability, specifically MS Excel and Power BI· Good business acumen and financial statement understanding· Good with people - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to communicate/highlight complex or obscure financial and operational data into usable insights· Highly organized and proactive· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with demonstrated understanding of the data; ability to turn data into useful information· Ability to collaborate with distributed team members· A huge amount of curiosity and wanting to understand/figure things out· Understanding and ability to display a high degree of confidentiality and discretion while working with sensitive and private information· Working towards Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Project Management Institute – Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) certification an asset· Ability and willingness to travel to other locations (Canada & US) if requiredIf you are a forward looking, action-oriented team player that works well with cross functional teams and meets the above qualifications, please apply.RPS offers an exciting, collaborative work environment within a growing company, a competitive group benefits program and matching retirement savings (RRSP) program.
