Building Materials ManagerHome Centre, OakbankOakbank, ManitobaOn behalf of our client, Pembina Consumers Co-op, we are currently recruiting for a Building Materials Manager at the Home Centre in Oakbank, Manitoba. Reporting to the Home Centre Manager, the Building Materials Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of tasks and be accountable for planning the direction of the building materials department.The ideal candidate must have knowledge of the building materials industry and be comfortable cultivating relationships with contractors and industry professionals.   • Assisting the Home Centre Manager achieve budgeted goals related to sales, margin, expenses, inventory as well as identifying areas for improvement.
  • Overseeing the planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of materials and products according to company needs and customer requirements.
  • Training, developing and motivating department staff while fostering a positive work environment that encourages engagement.
  • Executing sales and marketing strategies that support Pembina Co-op’s vision including achieving objectives in terms of brand and service levels.
  • Maintaining inventory control and material storage to ensure deliveries occur within customer timelines.
  • Growing the customer base while maintaining existing relationships with contractors.
  • Resolving any issues that may arise while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Carrying out merchandising duties according to the Home Centre Manager’s directions.
You and Your Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience in a related industry (lumber/and or hardware).
  • Post-secondary education, related to business management or training and development would be considered an asset.
  • You possess leadership qualities and demonstrate excellent communication skills.
  • You have superior customer service, time management and organizational skills.
  • You have hands on experience with forecasting and budgeting.
  • You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, while recognizing the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
  • You are physically able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • You are an honest, trustworthy, results-oriented individual who strives to be the best in what you do.
