The Building Service Worker is responsible for janitorial duties such as dusting, sweeping/washing floors, vacuuming,cleaning classrooms, washrooms and kitchen, washing windows, plus collecting & disposing of refuse. May be required to work fromstepladder for cleaning light fixtures, ceiling and walls.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS• Experience cleaning, preferably in an industrial/building services and/or unionized setting

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate with staff and students
  • Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team, with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and follow tasks through to completion
  • Commitment to life-long learning
ASSETS• Experience and/or knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures
  • Experience and/or familiarity with WHMIS
  • Ability to work evenings, as required
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT• Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must be physically capable of performing the required duties
  • Current WHMIS/GHS Certification and First Aid/CPR Certification or willing to obtain
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry and Adult Abuse Registry
