  • Support the Group Environment Team in the development of the new Environmental Commitments. This will include:
    • Project Management of core work packages that support new environmental commitments, for example water, carbon reduction workplans and waste management plans.
    • Engaging with sector leads in the assessment of biodiversity across a set number of sites.
    • Represent Babcock Canada at various Babcock International Group environment working groups
  • Support the development of new guidance and policy for Environmental Management.
  • Provide advice to a cross-functional team during project / services bid preparation by conducting assessments of environmental factors.
  • Provide advice to the Quality Team in assessing the capabilities of subcontractors to comply with environmental regulations and guidelines.
  • Assess the effectiveness of the Environmental Management System (EMS) in operation across the business.
  • Work with the Babcock Canada Environmental Manager to develop a natural environment strategy to support Babcock International Group Net-Zero-40.
  • Lead on employee engagement activities and communications on environmental matters.
  • Contribute to team strategy meetings, providing ideas and opinions on the projects.
The ideal candidate brings:
  • Bachelor of Environmental Science or related field
  • 2 or more years of related experience supporting environmental initiatives and projects
  • Experience in working with Environmental Data Management Systems
  • Experience in development of Environmental Management Systems (e.g., ISO 14001)
  • Experience and/or knowledge of the environmental discipline would be beneficial, notably in relation to Environmental Management Systems, biodiversity, waste, carbon reduction workplans and water management.
  • Strong data analysis and management skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft office packages
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and can work with individuals at all levels.
  • Project Management experience is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Building Services is beneficial
  • You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
