Job Description

Full Time Employment OpportunityReporting to Shift Supervisor, Facilities, the Facility Technician is responsible for maintaining daily operations including maintenance, repair andupkeep of equipment, building systems, components, furnishings at all Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries locations.

  • Facility Techn icians may be prim arily assigned to specific buildings, depending on skills and qualifications.
Duties:• Review all service requests for any particular requests that need attention for the day. Log time on CMMS. Self-assign WO’s.
  • Respond to requests for service, giving priority to urgent issues.
  • Complete daily preventative maintenance WO’s and checklists, including equipment and building logs/ checklists. Monitor worksite for
hazards and respond to safety & health issues in a timely manner.
  • Conduct daily checks on all building automation systems (BAS), monitor for temperature, RTU’s, and all other operating units to ensure
they are running properly.
  • Conduct external grounds inspections, including outdoor lighting, fencing, concrete, and asphalt, etc.
  • Replace and repair carpet, floor tiling, paving stone, and bricks where required.
  • Purchase materials as needed within scope of authority.
  • Change lights and maintain light inventories.
  • Operate and maintain various building systems, including hot water tanks/boilers, generators, compressor, standpipes, fire panels,
environmental cooling, etc.
  • Shop cleaning and maintenance as required. Maintain to 5S standards.
  • Order parts to maintain inventories according to minimum and maximum levels.
  • Communicate status of work needed, in process or completed.
  • Complete work orders and contact/assist contractors.
  • Encourage a climate that supports diversity.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Primary Qualifications:• Completion of a Grade XII High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Certification or enrolment in Power Engineer Class 5, BOMI-SMT (Systems Maintenance Technician) or formal training in a trade related to
building maintenance. Operational requirements may require specific skills or certification.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in all facets of building operations and maintenance (i.e. plumbing, carpentry, painting,
electrical, troubleshooting, renovations, etc.).
  • Must have and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Able to successfully complete and maintain MBLL training and certification on power mobile equipment, Scissor-Manlift & Boom-Safe Lift
truck operations.
