We continue to innovate, implement best practices, and adopt new technologies in all areas.The Opportunity:For our IT Department we are seeking an IT ManagerSummary: As the senior IT lead at Vidir, the IT Manager is responsible to provide strategic leadership and day-to-day oversight to the IT team. Key focuses include identifying and evaluating business-enabling software solutions; providing infrastructure solutions and support processes that improve services and realize efficiencies; as well as developing and maintaining information security, data retention and disaster recovery plans. This role is accountable to participate in information security architecture and system design development, ensuring that all activities adhere to Vidir’s information security principles, standards and processes.Key Responsibilities include:

  • Gain an understanding of business operations and monitor ongoing developments in the technology field in order to support all departments in achieving the organization’s goals.
  • Oversee all aspects of information technology operations, security and telecom systems including delivery and coordination of end user support, network administration, infrastructure development, application support, and business continuity. Research best practices in design, implementation and product selection in support of information systems and infastructure.
  • Develop, implement and maintain standards, policies, procedures, and internal controls for the use of information technology, security and telecom systems. Research and evaluate new technologies to be used as enhancements or upgrades.
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
  • Manage relationships and procurement with vendors and consultants including managing request for proposal processes.
  • Implement and lead Vidir’s information security program and ensure that network and data center operations reflect best practice for security and privacy controls.
  • Supports security compliance and remediation initiatives for technology, processes and services to ensure ongoing effectiveness of the information security program, protect the business from unknown exposures and ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Coordinates and/or participates in business security threat and risk assessments, and risk control assessments
  • All Leaders drive safety and continuous improvement excellence by demonstrating leadership accountabilities under Vidir’s Safety Management System.
Qualifications:The successful candidate must have at least three to five years of experience with an information technology focus in a Microsoft environment. The ideal candidate should have experience evaluating technology solutions in relation to business requirements, providing project oversight and supervising software/infastructure support operations, and with multi-site WAN/LAN infastructure including switches and routers, and VPN. The successful candidate will also have a University degree or diploma in Computer Science, management information systems, inforation system technology, or a related field. In addition, the following competencies are considered assets:
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Microsoft, Cisco or Security Certifications
  • A passion for learning new technical solutions and realizing their benefits.
  • A commitment to customer service and a quality user experience.
  • Strong technical aptitude in IT security, data center operations, server and storage infastructure, networking business continuity, security and disaster recovery.
