  • Physical testing of production samples
  • Daily calibration of standard lab instruments
  • Recording and interpreting test results
  • Verifying sufficient inventory of testing supplies
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the laboratory environment
  • Maintains samples of tested product in order to confirm test results when necessary
  • Performs light maintenance and calibration on all ADM laboratory equipment.
  • Maintains on-going records of the results of all testing procedures and inputs such data into computer on a daily basis
  • Maintains adequate supplies used for testing procedures and notifies the supervisor of the need to re-order such supplies
  • Continually compares test results with standards as required to insure that all flour is within specification
Job Description (Cont)Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintains a neat and clean working area at all times, washing equipment as required and placing equipment in the proper storage areas
  • Demonstrate initiative to work independently while flexible enough to work in team setting when needed.
  • Exhibit a professional image at all times; maintain a positive and respectful attitude.
  • Performs duties in a safe manner, utilizing all approved safety equipment and successfully completes all safety certification requirements
  • Maintains awareness and adheres to all CFIA, GMPs and employer standards and guidelines
  • Handles various chemicals in assorted containers in the manner outlined in the manufacturer’s chemical Material Safety Data Sheet
  • Recommends solutions to correct deficiencies or improve work and operational practices
  • Participates actively in training
  • Commitment to ADM’s goal of achieving a zero injury culture; understand and follow company safety procedures
  • All other duties required
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrate good communication and teamwork skills in performing all job functions with plant peers, management, customers, suppliers and laboratory personnel
  • Must be a motivated individual able to work with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment
  • Must have the ability to multi-task
  • Must be familiar and comfortable with the use of computer spreadsheets and data management
Education or Work Experience
  • 6 Months of Experience with lab procedures and equipment
  • Technical degree in a science related field
Health and Safety
  • Work in accordance with local/provincial legislation
  • Understands and is accountable for full compliance with safety and other EHS requirements
Additional Information

  • Exhibit regular and prompt attendance
  • Prolonged periods of standing and sitting
