House Cleaning CareerCompany OverviewMotivated Brands Inc. transforms service industries by eliminating high turnover, lack of dependability, inconsistent quality and low wages through its nano-business licensing model. Instead of being employees, technicians own independent nano-businesses operating under the brand through a licensing agreement.This provides access to the brand, business systems, operational support and more, allowing them to work for themselves but not by themselves.Position OverviewMotivated House Cleaners provides various types of house cleaning services with the main focus on recurring weekly or bi-weekly maintenance house cleaning. However, we do provide one-time maintenance house cleaning bookings that Customers can book as-needed and, as well, deep house cleaning, spring house cleaning, move-in house cleaning and move-out house cleaning too. Some of the tasks Providers perform include:

  • Dust accessible and safely reachable surface areas
  • Floors vacuumed and washed, including accessible areas under furniture
  • Horizontal hard furniture surfaces cleaned
  • Horizontal upholstered furniture surfaces vacuumed
  • Empty and clean exterior of trash receptacles
  • Toilets cleaned, buffed, and bowls disinfected
  • Tubs and showers cleaned and buffed
  • Cabinet exteriors cleaned and handles buffed
  • Sinks cleaned and buffed
  • Counters and backsplashes cleaned
  • Mirrors cleaned and buffed
  • Major appliance exteriors cleaned, including microwave exterior
  • Ceramic cooktop cleaned
Providers focus solely on house cleaning services and do not provide housekeeping services such as laundry or general tidying.Requirementsamp; ExpectationsBeing a Professional House Cleaner is about more than just completing house cleaning tasks—it’s about creating a positive experience for Customers. Providers must be good listeners who can understand Customer needs and communicate effectively. Empathy is key, ensuring Customers feel comfortable and never judged.Attention to detail is important, as is a genuine enjoyment of serving others. Providers should also be coachable, open to learning and willing to improve their house cleaning skills over time.From following proper cleaning techniques to ensuring streak-free surfaces, sanitizing kitchens and bathrooms, and maintaining a consistent cleaning standard, Providers must be open to learning. When leaving a Customer’s home, it should have that special touch that says, “I’ve been here, and I care!”Long-Term, Full-Time CommitmentThis is not short-term gig work, freelancing or a side hustle secondary to a primary job. The role follows a structured schedule with recurring Customers, building stable income and long-term Customer relationships.Contract CommitmentAfter a six-month trial period, there is an option to contractually commit to a two-year period, with an additional option to renew for another 2.5 years after that.AvailabilitySchedules are self-set but require at least 35 hours per week. As Customers book recurring weekly or bi-weekly services on the same day and time each week, your weekly schedule remains fixed and does not change from week to week.Discovery CallAfter applying and accepting an offer to join our network, Providers must complete a face-to-face virtual meeting with a Success Coach before officially beginning the onboarding process. This is not a formal interview but a chance to meet, ask any final questions and ensure alignment on expectations.TransportationA reliable way to get to and from bookings is essential, with drop-off and pick-up by friends or family not suitable. A personal vehicle is required in most areas, though public transit may be an option in some cities if it allows for on-time arrival and departure. Rideshare services like Uber may also be used.Criminal Records CheckA clean criminal records check is required through our designated provider, with a link supplied. The cost is covered by the provider and is only needed after accepting an offer, submitted during onboarding.InsuranceCommercial general liability insurance is required to protect you, Customers and the company. It is easily obtained online through a link provided during onboarding. The cost is approximately $50 per month, billed monthly, with the first two months payable upfront. Coverage can be canceled anytime without penalty.Estimated EarningsEarnings are based on hourly rates, a per-booking fuel surcharge, and optional tips. Payments are processed online and disbursed after deductions.Deductions include a 20 percent licensing fee (excluding tips and fuel surcharges), credit card processing fees, and any applicable costs.Rates vary by location and are set when expanding. Current St. John’s, NL rates:
  • Maintenance cleaning: $36.00/hour
  • Deep cleaning: $45.00/hour
  • Spring cleaning: $45.00/hour
  • Move-in cleaning: $45.00/hour
  • Move-out cleaning: $45.00/hour
  • Fuel surcharge: $4.99/booking
Estimated weekly earnings (35 billable hours, 50 weeks/year):
  • Gross service charges: $1,275.75
  • Tips (15 percent): $205.58
  • Fuel surcharge: $49.90
  • Product add-ons: $94.80
  • Total gross earnings: $1,626.03
  • Deductions: $313.42
  • Net weekly earnings: $1,312.61 ($37.50/hour)
  • Annual net earnings: $65,630.50
  • Additional deep/spring cleaning bookings: $7,000
  • Total annual net earnings: $72,630.50
During the holidays and spring, Providers typically work extra shifts to meet Customer demand. This results in approximately 10 additional deep or spring cleanings per year, generating about $700/booking for an estimated additional income of $7,000 annually.*As a self-employed person, Providers are responsible for remitting their own income taxes, HST and both employer and employee portions of CPP. We’ll provide information and guidance on this with our training.Start Up CostsBecoming a Provider requires a small initial investment of about $800 to cover essential items such business cards, cleaning products and equipment. As well, insurance is approximately $50/month but requires two months upfront.TrainingMotivated Brands Academy is a complimentary online platform that provides training, policies, procedures, and business management guidance to help you run your business efficiently.
