Job Description

Peguis Radio Station Manager will ensure the smooth daily operation of the community and commercial radio station. They will manage the administrative, technical, program, and sales aspects of a station. The Radio Station Manager will be accountable to the Peguis First Nation management and strive to maintain the positive work environment, personality, and financial viability of the business.JOB DUTIES

  • On a day-to-day basis, must supervise and coordinate the schedules, workflow, and responsibilities of various departments.
  • The Radio Station manager will be responsible for the success and profitability of the station.
  • Participate in fund-raising events or grant writing.
  • Must have enough technical knowledge to understand the operation of all station equipment.
  • Your job description as a station manager will be to oversee each and every radio program that is on your station.
  • Monitor on-air time with Radio DJs are required to be live on-air after every two (2) songs doing announcements, ads, interviews, answering live incoming calls.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Diploma or Certification in Radio Communications (or other related disciplines combined with experience) from a recognized university or college or a related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in radio communications
  • Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of the following:
    • General business practices and theories
    • Principles of marketing
    • Budgetamp; personnel management
    • Risk management
  • Proven planning, managing, organizational and implementation skills.
  • Proven leadership, team and personnel development and relationship building skills.
  • Sound knowledge of the policies, procedures, principles, and practices involved in the municipal administration of community services.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Analytical skills to research, plan, and evaluate department services.
  • Proven change and transition skills.
  • Advanced conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven track record in maintaining professional development and upgrading skill sets and expertise.
  • Computer skills using Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
