Coordinates audits and inspections to ensure compliance with government environmental standards. Keep up to date on regulations and policies. Coordinates sustainability/energy project assessments, implementation and validation. Assists the Occupational Health and Safety programs and ensures compliance with accepted safety standards and applicable legislation. Provides instruction and training on safe handling of products, materials and/or equipment. Investigates and reports workplace accidents. Actively participates in the activities of the Joint Health and Safety Committee. Conducts routine audits to determine the nature and extent of unsafe work practices and recommends corrective action. Makes recommendations concerning compliance with all applicable Healthamp; Safety regulations.Your preferred qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in one or more of the following areas - environmental, sustainability, health and safety, kinesiology, or other related education, training, and experience
  • Working knowledge in managing legal and other requirements (i.e. Environmental Protection Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Industrial Establishment Regulation, Fire Code, etc)
  • Good understanding of manufacturing operations (technical and organization)
  • Moderate to advanced experience with a variety of applications (MS Software - Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, Sphera, Ease, CAQ, Intelex, Canva, etc), or ability to learn to use different technology
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to effectively communicate and teach one-on-one and in group settings to audiences ranging from production to senior management
  • Able to exercise judgement, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strategic thinking, strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Results-oriented and able to work well under pressure
  • Ability to lead self, lead others, and work with little to no supervision to execute
DESIRABLE ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with manufacturing process
  • Experience in leading and monitoring modified work program
  • Joint Health and Safety Committee certification
  • Familiar with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or other management systems
  • Internal auditing experience
  • Automotive manufacturing experience
Accommodations for disabilities in relation to the job selection process are available upon request.Who we are looking forWe are looking for HSEamp; Sustainability candidates who has experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive. Candidates must have conducted risk assessments, audits, data analysis and presentations to various audiences.Your Responsibilities
  • Conduct safety and environmental audits, and develop corrective action plans in consultation with other departments (operational, internal, management systems, etc)
  • Ensure data collection and compliance reports are completed as required (i.e. ESDM, AWS, NPRI, HSELinx, Magna requirements, etc)
  • Initiate sustainability projects for landfill diversion, carbon neutrality, energy reduction and energy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability practices and objectives on equipment standards, design and maintenance
  • Assist with monitoring data, completing sustainability/energy projects to ensure goals, targets and objectives are being met
  • Update data in HSElinx when required
  • Facilitate and implement HSE policies, processes, and systems
  • Perform risk assessments, and review of aspects / impacts
  • Maintain knowledge of current HSE strategies, trends, and technologies by developing industry working relationships and participating in exchange groups, associations, and committees
  • Facilitate HSE and sustainability training
  • Assist with implementation of modified work program, and assist with WSIB claims
  • Consult on change management
  • Maintains confidentiality and integrity
  • Ensure MAFACT requirements are being achieved through day to day and project based tasks
  • Must be able to support all shifts including office and shop floor
  • Performs all job functions abiding by the office/work standards, policies and procedures as outlines in the company handbook.
  • Performs all job functions in alignment with IATF 16949 quality management standards and ISO 14001
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement
  • Maintain 5S standards in working environment
  • Attend training based on Mytox #39;s internal training matrix
  • Performs all job functions in a safe, healthful and environmentally conscious manner, abiding by all health, safety and environment rules and regulations as outlined in the company handbook
  • Performs other duties as assigned or any reasonable request by management.
