SummaryAPI is seeking seasoned professional to join our company in the role of Java Developer. The position will be based in our technology office located in Markham, Ontario.The expectation is that this individual is a seasoned, full-stack Java developer with exceptional technical, analytical and communication skills. Primary focus will be hands on development within an agile team delivering new product features and core system improvements.Secondarily, this role will also deal with production support escalations.Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.• Full stack web and mobile developer.• Full lifecycle application development.• Design, code and debug software.• Perform software analysis, risk analysis, reliability analysis.• Provide mentorship to develop technical and soft skills for members of the team.• Participate in software design, architectural discussions, prototyping and development estimation process.• Participate in client requirements, scrum team discussions.• Support production as needed.• Functional/system integration testing support and deployment.Required Skills, Education and Experience• Minimum 5 years of experience developing web-based Java/J2EE applications.• BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field.• Solid full-stack developer,• Strong skills Spring (MVC, Core and IOC), Hibernate, Struts, JSF, NodeJS, Linux.• Experience with Apache Tomcat, WebLogicamp; TomEE.• Experience using and implementing SOAP/REST based web services using XML/JSON.• Familiarity with AWS cloud technologies i.e. API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, ECS, No SQL, S3, cloud deployment tools (Cloud Formation), container orchestration (i.e. Docker).• Strong SQL skills and working knowledge in Oracle.• Self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively manage concurrent complex tasks in a high-pressure environment.• Problem solving/analysis• Business acumen• Results driven• Team collaboration and technical communication• Customer focus• Agile development processes• Communication proficiency• Able to make sound technical decisions independently • Experience on accounting and Invoicing • Project or Delivery ManagementPosition Type and Expected Hours of WorkDays and hours of work are Monday through Friday, normal core business hours in Ontario, Canada.
