Individually these are just words, but together they are our Values – Care, Commitment, Community, and Confidence.The role exists to manage risks and assess controls on a timely basis and support effective risk management processes across IT areas.The role supports the cultural change needed to transform and continuously improve the Risk and Control environment within the function.What you’ll doLeads the development and implementation of risk management processes and procedures within IT to ensure that Aviva’s risk management framework is embraced and maintained in a pragmatic and consistent fashionIs effectively engaged with Risk and Governance teams, Internal Audit and Business Leadership across business units (both globally and in Canada) to identify and implement Best Practices and StandardsOversees, reviews and challenges Canada’s Risk appetite frameworkConducts various forms of risk assessments (RCSAs, Residual Risk Assessments, etc.)Evaluates IT’s risk positions and provides leaders with objective opinions of their risk profileLead risk reviews assessing inherent and residual risksStandards roll-out and updates across IT such as Business Protection StandardReport and escalate on the status of the relevant risks and controls through established processesDrive actions and enhancement of controls based on lessons learned from Root Cause AnalysisDevelop and implement risk management processes and procedures within the Information Technology TeamSupports control owners in the evaluation of issues and provides IT leaders with objective opinions on their risk profileEnsure that FRCF reporting meets the requirements of Aviva Canada Finance team (CFO)Ensures that risk reporting meets the requirements of Aviva Canada and Aviva Group ITManage and QA risk and control assessmentsReport and escalate the status of the relevant risks, controls and standards as appropriateRepresent ACAN IT in governance forumsManagement, coaching and mentoring a team of IT Risk and Compliance professionals, and maintains an environment of high performance, engagement and collaborationProvide a comprehensive and diverse range of risk management expertise to the IT teamChampion a strong and continuously improving Riskamp; Control environment across ITMaintains knowledge of industry trends, developments, and regulatory changes to support IT and Aviva CanadaWhat you’ll bring8 or more years experience with Audit, Risk and Compliance, or Information Security (preferably within the Property/Casualty insurance industry)Significant experience conducting and writing risk assessments related to IT and Cyber risk and controlsPrior audit or risk management experience including crafting or assessing the efficiency of processes, systems and controls with the ability to identify key business riskPreference will be given to candidates with CISA, CISMand/or CISSP designationsAbility and desire to inspire change in a sophisticated environmentSignificant experience at operating at senior management levelsHeightened relationship management skills at all levelsProven dedication to high standards of performanceAbility to think long-term strategically and operationallyDemonstrated proficiency at managing multiple and changing priorities and delivering results in a matrixed environmentProficiency and resourcefulness in identifying and analyzing relevant data and information and defining critical issues and alternativesCommitment to ongoing professional and technical developmentWhat you’ll get Competitive rewards package including base compensation, eligibility for annual bonus, retirement savings, share plan, health benefits, personal wellness, and volunteer opportunities.Exceptional Career Development opportunities.We’ll support your professional development education.Additional Information: Aviva Canada has an accommodation process in place to provide accommodations for employees with disabilities.
