What you will be responsible for
  • Carries out established recreation programs such as outings, exercises, crafts, social events, entertainment, games, etc.
  • Assists residents to and from programs as required.
  • Assists encourage and motivates residents/tenants to participate and provide personal care during recreational activities as required.
  • Observes, reports, and documents any changes, in residents, to the supervisor and/or nurse.
  • Ensures recreational equipment and supplies are used, maintained and stored in a safe, clean, and efficient manner. Reports unsafe or faulty equipment to supervisor.
  • Actively participates in C.Q.I. program, meetings, committees and educational in-services as required. Assists in the maintenance of statistical records.
  • Assists with orientation of new residents/tenants.
Requirements
  • Graduate from a recognized Activity/Recreation Certificate or diploma program
  • Experience in a senior’s focused recreation department an asset.
  • Basic First Aid Certificate (Current).
  • Food Safe Course or equivalent (Current).
  • Proof of COVID vaccination
About us: Casa Mia is a heritage home offers 90 long term care beds, consisting of primarily single occupancy rooms. Many with expansive views over the Fraser River and towering trees.Casa Mia is a storied 1930’s mansion boasting views of gorgeous grounds, the Fraser River, Georgia Straight, and the mountains of Vancouver Island.This estate home features three stories with a grand dining area, ballroom, recreation areas and large outdoor patios on each floor. Casa Mia provides our residents with a modern care environment with a throw back to Vancouver’s heritage.Casa Mia works in collaboration with the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority.
