NVIT anticipates a requirement for two Accommodation and Accessibility Planners with one based at the Merritt campus and one based at the Burnaby campus. NVIT invites applications from qualified individuals. This will be a full-time, term position commencing August 20th, 2021 and will end April 30, 2022, with the possibility of an extension.Job Summary:The Accommodation and Accessibility Planner's (the AAP) will report directly to the Success Centre Manager (Merritt) while also working closely with the Success Center Coordinator (Burnaby). This position provides information and support to prospective and current learners, education coordinators and faculty regarding NVIT's Accommodation and Accessibility services and processes as described within NVIT's Accommodation and Accessibility policies and procedures. The AAP is primarily connected to the portion of the learner cycle dedicated to retention and graduation. This position focuses on internal and external services that aid any learners at any NVIT campus with accommodation and accessibility supports and technologies to develop appropriate and relevant accommodation and accessibility plans that support individual learner success. The AAP enters and maintains documentation of learner accommodation and accessibility meetings and services in the digital and physical learner information system and files. As each learner's individualized plan may require and/or include documentation, assessments, tutoring, and/or financial aid assistance, the AAP creates a comprehensive plan informed by collaborating with NVIT's Registration Admissions Recruitment Officers and the Academic and Financial Planners. As a member of the Enrolment Services team, the AAP works collaboratively across the division to ensure that prospective and current learners receive consistent, timely and accurate information related to accommodation and accessibility services and planning. The AAP participates in activities associated with the retention of learners, such as NVIT campus events and activities to support student life and the inclusion and success of learners with Accommodation and Accessibility plans. The AAP's role is to ensure that students requiring accommodations and accessibility assistance have inclusive, adequate, and supportive access to NVIT's services, events and facilities. This position requires extensive use of NVIT's technological systems, including Teams, word processing, spreadsheets, email, web applications and the learner information system Colleague.
