Job SummarySalary: $61,182.54 - $77,067.27This position is also posted as a Scientific Technical Officer (Resource) 24 via Requisition 81152.The Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development has a mandate to manage specified Crown land and resources in a manner that embraces the economic, environmental and social goals of government.Working in a variety of settings, the Authorizations Officer - Water provides professional advice and may make decisions regarding the allocation of resources and adjudication of resource authorizations for the Natural Resource Sector. This role evaluates resource use applications and resource plans; reviews proposals/ prescriptions, consults with stakeholders, communicates with clients, and evaluates and makes recommendations and/or approvals.The BC Public Service is committed to creating a diverse workplace to represent the population we serve and to better meet the needs of our citizens.   • Degree in natural resource management or related field, and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a resource management related field; or
  • A Diploma in natural resource management or related field, and 5 years’ experience in a resource management related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of related education and experience;
  • Registered, or immediately eligible for registration, as a fully licensed professional with the British Columbia professional association as required by the specialty area (Association of Forest Professionals, Institute of Agrologists, or the Engineers and Geoscientists BC); and
  • Valid BC class 5 driver’s licence, or equivalent.
