Job Description

NVIT anticipates a need for one full-time, Enrolment Services Planner – Community Education at the Merritt Campus and invites applications from qualified candidates. This will be an ongoing support staff position; this position will start as soon as a suitable candidate is available.Job Summary:The Enrolment Services Planner – Community Education will be responsible for processing all community education program inquiries and program applications, updating & assisting students with registration processes, maintaining program applicant lists, and preparing registration information packages to send to current and upcoming community program deliveries. The Planner will report to the Associate Registrar – Learner to Graduate, while working closely with the Recruitment, Admissions and Registration Officers, and the Academic and Financial Planners on both campuses as well as the Community Education department. Part of the Planner’s role is to ensure that students attending NVIT programs within the community have a point of contact for questions, directives, updates, or financial assistance while providing information and support for community students to have access to NVIT programs and services offered. This position is the main point of contact for maintaining and managing up-to-date community program information and may be required to perform any additional tasks as requested.Specific Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Data entry with a high level of accuracy
  • Process student application packages and manage application and admissions for community course deliveries
  • Register, add, drop, and withdraw students from courses
  • Handle all inquiries concerning application requirements, registration procedures, student records and general program information, and inquiries about NVIT
  • Create and maintain community student record files
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships and share NVIT information and materials with community partners including, but not limited to, First Nation Communities, Indigenous organizations, and educational institutes within the K-12 post-secondary systems
  • Report on community involvement regarding applications, program status’, course deliveries, the building of section requests and registration data to the Associate Registrar’s
