It fuels our innovation and connects us closer to the community we serve.Job DescriptionThe Recreation and Facilities team is looking for Recreation Program Assistants to help run programs, community events, tourism initiatives and other special events throughout the year. These may include working with community organizations, leading day camps and sports programs for youth, Music in the Park, Canada Day, International Youth Day, Indigenous Day, and more.The purpose of this posting is to create an eligibility list for current and future recreation program opportunities.Work will vary and may include days, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays; hours of work are not guaranteed and are based on operational requirements.Qualifications

  • Demonstrated flexibility and the willingness to adapt to changing situations.
  • Energetic and passionate about working with the community and children and youth.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Commitment to a problem-solving approach.
  • Ability to identify sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality.
  • Good organization and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work individually and as a part of the team.
  • A valid BC driver’s licence.
