Job Description

Our client is one of Western Canada’s largest full service law firms with locations conveniently located in downtown Vancouver and Langley. After 40 years in the business, their success continues to be fueled by the talent, ambition and expertise of their amazing team.One of their key areas of practice is as a leading provider of corporate services, where they assist thousands of companies to meet their legal obligations by acting as their registered records office and keeping their records up to date.What you can expect:We currently have an opening in the Langley office for a Corporate Legal Administrative Assistant. This role requires an individual who is organized, effective at multi-tasking and detail oriented, with strong communication and people skills. Depending on experience and knowledge, the core responsibilities of the role will be, but not limited to:

  • Performing conflict searches, opening files, completing client identification/verification and preparing retainer letters;
  • Maintaining and organizing files and documents;
  • Formatting documents;
  • Tasks related to commercial transactions, including but not limited to:
  • coordinating electronic signatures;
  • attending to closings and payouts;
  • Preparing trust deposits, trust cheque requests, trust transfers, investment deposits and redemptions, billing and generating monthly WIP and AR Reports;
  • Sending and receiving letters with or without enclosures, as well as with or without courier;
  • Calendar organization for lawyers including scheduling telephone, video conference and in-person client meetings, booking boardrooms and setting up virtual meetings using Zoom and Teams; and
  • Other administrative duties as required.
What you bring to the table:
  • Minimum 3 years’ of experience as an LAA in a busy corporate practice
  • A Legal Administrative Assistant certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Familiarity with DocuSign and myLTSA
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle a high volume of work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
The typical salary range for this position is $52,000 – $72,000.
